5 months ago, when the mandatory quarantine began in my country (Colombia), as a result of the pandemic, I decided to take advantage of part of the time at home not only for the tasks of my job, but to take on a new learning challenge.

So after many twists and turns, I took the path of the frontend developer, that branch of web development that is responsible for presenting information to the user on the browser and connecting with the backend to exchange data that is required on the site. or web application.

I must say that I have been an electronics and telecommunications engineer for 21 years (that's right, I'm 44 馃槒) but programming was not my strong suit during my studies and later in professional life I did not have the need to program. Initially I was responsible for implementing communications networks and later I participated in the design of many of them, but in no case were the lines of code a requirement for my work. Then the profession led me to the wonderful world of software sales, in which I have been working and enjoying for 12 years, precisely helping my clients solve their business challenges with SaaS (software as a service) solutions.

However, for a couple of years, seeing the development of web applications, the beauty and versatility of user interfaces and the rise of cloud computing, I wanted to learn the details behind the applications that we use every day on a browser.

My current motivation is none other than learning to build my own software artifacts using the best web technologies and now, after these months, I feel that I am on the right track, eager to know more and with the intention of sharing my process through this blog.

Today's world requires us to keep an open mind, in permanent beta as Reid Hoffman says in his book 馃摌 The Start up of you and with a growth mindset that allows us to continue acquiring new knowledge and skills.

In my next blog I will share the roadmap馃椇 that I have defined to become a frontend developer and some resources used in the process.

All comments are welcome.

Thanks for reading me! 馃憤
